As my boyfriend would say, “Let’s Go Donkey’s!”
To kick off this season, I wanted to celebrate 1.) being new to Colorado & 2.) watching our first Bronco’s game together as bf/gf! I know, super cheesy, but also very fun.
What better way to celebrate than to make a spread of food that would appeal to my man’s stomach??
On The Menu
Spicy Chicken Burgers + Homemade Fries + Baked Beans + Beer/(Wine for Me)
1/2 lb lean ground chicken (Sprouts)
1/2 lb spicy chicken sausage (Sprouts)
2 Brioche Buns
1 tbsp butter
2 Green Chile’s
Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Avocado
Cheddar Cheese slice (optional)
Baked Beans (Sprouts pre-made section)
2 Golden Potatoes
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, paprika, Mrs. Dash Chipotle Seasoning (optional)
In a large bowl combine both packages of chicken. Form into 4 equal parts and make patties. Cover and put into the refrigerator to set.
Wash potatoes and cut into even-sized wedges.
In another medium sized bowl combine olive oil and all seasonings.
Coat potatoes in oil mix
and spread evenly across covered cookie sheet.
Bake for 30-45 minutes at 450 degrees.
When there are about 15 minutes left on the fries, take burgers out of the fridge and either grill or cook on stovetop until cooked through. When burgers are done you can butter your buns and lightly toast in the warmed pan.
Top with cheese, chile, and any other desired goodies!
This meal was perfect! Being gluten and dairy free, I omitted the bun and cheese from mine. The flavors were still amazing, and I finished the meal feeling full and satisfied.
